LOGISTICS AND DELIVERY

Government Logistics Services

NorthBridge Supply & Services reviews delivery and logistics requirements against origin, destination, handling needs, access conditions and required delivery dates before committing to performance.

Commercial delivery work taught us to price the whole movement. The complete route, handling and documentation requirement is understood before freight or delivery pricing is accepted.

LOGISTICS SUPPORT

Defined movement and delivery requirements

01

Freight Coordination

Freight requirements are reviewed by shipment size, origin, destination, delivery window and access conditions before a carrier cost is accepted.

Examples

  • LTL freight
  • Full-truckload coordination
  • Palletized freight
  • Commercial carrier delivery
  • Scheduled freight
02

Equipment Delivery

Large or heavy equipment can require liftgate service, dock access, appointment scheduling, inside delivery or specialized handling.

Examples

  • Industrial equipment
  • Storage systems
  • Commercial machinery
  • Office furniture
  • Crated equipment
03

Local Delivery

Defined local delivery requirements may be reviewed when pickup, destination, timing and handling are clear.

Examples

  • Same-region delivery
  • Scheduled local transport
  • Multi-stop delivery
  • Courier support
  • Material drop-off
04

Material Movement

Some requirements involve moving items between facilities or repositioning equipment rather than purchasing new products.

Examples

  • Office relocation support
  • Equipment movement
  • Internal site transfers
  • Staged material movement
  • Pickup and delivery coordination
05

Recurring Scheduled Delivery

Recurring routes and scheduled deliveries are evaluated by frequency, volume, service window and location count.

Examples

  • Weekly delivery
  • Recurring supply runs
  • Multi-location service
  • Route-based delivery
  • Time-window delivery

DELIVERY REVIEW

What we check before pricing transportation

01

Origin

Where the product or material starts and whether pickup is supplier-controlled.

02

Destination

Exact ship-to location, site type and receiving contact.

03

Freight terms

FOB Destination, FOB Origin, prepaid, collect or other solicitation-specific terms.

04

Size and weight

Dimensions, pallet count, weight, packaging and handling requirements.

05

Access

Dock, liftgate, stairs, secure facility, limited parking, gate access or remote location.

06

Timing

Required delivery date, appointment window, lead time and any restricted receiving hours.

07

Handling

Inside delivery, assembly, room-of-choice, debris removal, setup or special equipment.

08

Documentation

Proof of delivery, packing list, bill of lading, appointment records or other required paperwork.

FOB terms change who carries the risk

A solicitation may require FOB Destination, which generally means the seller remains responsible for transportation to the stated destination, or another freight term that changes responsibility and cost.

NorthBridge reviews the solicitation language before treating supplier freight as complete.

A supplier quote that says freight included does not automatically prove compliance with the contract delivery terms.

Send Delivery Terms

Access conditions can turn a simple delivery into a different job

The same product can have very different delivery costs depending on the final destination.

A dock-to-dock commercial shipment is different from inside delivery to a secure facility, remote site or upper floor.

  • Loading dock availability
  • Liftgate requirement
  • Forklift availability
  • Inside delivery
  • Stairs or elevator
  • Security checkpoint
  • Delivery appointment
  • Restricted receiving hours
  • Remote-site access
  • Parking limitations
  • Assembly or placement
  • Packaging removal

PRODUCT AND FREIGHT

Product sourcing and delivery have to be priced together

For product requirements, the delivered cost matters more than the supplier unit price alone.

NorthBridge reviews product cost, freight, access requirements and delivery timing together before finalizing a quote.

Product Sourcing

DOCUMENTATION

Delivery paperwork may be part of acceptance

Some buyers require more than a signed delivery receipt. The solicitation may require specific shipping records, serial numbers, packing lists, photographs, installation records or proof of delivery.

  • Packing list
  • Bill of lading
  • Proof of delivery
  • Tracking information
  • Serial numbers
  • Receiving signature
  • Delivery photographs when required
  • Installation or setup confirmation
  • Freight invoice
  • Damage documentation

When we pause a logistics quote

NorthBridge may pause or decline a logistics requirement when the destination is unclear, freight terms conflict, dimensions are missing, access conditions cannot be confirmed or the required delivery date cannot be supported.

01

Unknown shipment dimensions

02

Unconfirmed delivery access

03

Conflicting freight terms

04

Unsupported delivery schedule
